Thanksgiving: Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is next week, that’s right, Thanksgiving. My favorite season is the Fall/Autumn and I love this time of year. I give thanks all year and every day of it. I do not mean in any way to undermine the specialness of the traditional holiday. I love that the United States set’s apart a day of the year for giving thanks. I think it’s great that most of us still believe that Thanksgiving is a day for actually giving thanks and not just a time for bingeing on reruns of Twilight Zone or watching football on television while filling our faces with a turkey dinner.

We should give thanks every day, gratitude improves our lives. Gratitude enhances our experience of the good things in life, enabling us to enjoy them more. Gratitude also helps us to endure the hard things in life with dignity, sometimes even with a smile. I hope everyone takes time to remember all that they have been blessed with and thank God for their blessings, be grateful, not just on Thanksgiving but every day. Give thanks, you’ll be glad you did.thanksgiving
